Walk-in Clinics
Advice on insulation options and energy saving solutions
The Tweedgreen Energy Group have nine energy walk-in clinics scheduled for the Autumn starting with the Peebles Agricultural Show in Hay Lodge Park, in mid-August and ending with a slightly green Christmas Fair in late November in Cardrona. At these events you will be able to talk to us about your insulation queries and see examples of different types of loft insulation materials and find out about other “keep your home cosy” solutions. Often in older properties there are many restrictions as to what you can do to keep the heat in but Tweedgreen have a few suggestions that could be helpful, keeping you warmer and ultimately saving you money!
We have also joined forces with the Tweedgreen Food Group and five of their “Village Lunches” will be run at the same venues as the energy clinics and on the same days. The Food Group will be serving home made locally produced soups and snacks from noon to 2pm.
The events will be held at the village halls in Eddleston, Kirkton Manor, Broughton, Stobo, Traquair and Cardrona and will run from 11am to 3pm. See below for venues and dates. Storyteller Mrs Mash will also be on hand to entertain the younger visitors. Waste Aware also plan to be in attendance at most of the events with advice on composting at home. Our Community Woodland project will also have a presence at some of the venues. The remaining clinics will be held at Innerleithen Community Fair in September and at our own Energy Fair in mid October.
HOT AIR OR HOT TOPIC
Tweedgreen Energy Group are in the process of organising a series of three talks in September, October and November to be held at the Eastgate Theatre on the topic of wind energy. See Diary Dates Below. The first presentation will explore the nuts and bolts of the actual turbines and the two sites currently being proposed for this area, the second will address the planning issues and the setting up of a development company and the third will cover the funding that can be generated for the local community and how that money can be distributed.
